Wedding Season

Many of you have asked about our wedding season. We married at Lakeridge Lutheran Church.

We enjoyed a private wedding ceremony at a neighborhood church, and then a formal reception complete with dancing, cake, gifts for our guests, and delicious food at Dena's parents' house overlooking Lake Washington and downtown Renton.
Our bridal party was a great help!

The November day was perfect: rain, drizzle, candlelight, party lights, flowers, swags, and romance.

On our engagement anniversary we hosted a public reception for family and friends at our local church, Highlands Community Church. We enjoyed our wedding season throughout, including our wonderful and delightful honeymoon, the fun afterglow party, the gown search and fitting, the tux pick, the cake tasting, the bachelorette and bachelor parties, the bridal shower, and every moment in-between. Of course we liked opening presents for 3 months, the duration of our official celebrations. We also celebrated James' birthday and the holidays!

We recommend creating your own wedding season unique to you and yours!

We married on November 5, 2005 at a small ceremony at Lakeridge Lutheran Church in Seattle, Washington with our parents, siblings, and wedding party. The ceremony was intimate and meaningful for us. Brian Hope of The Redemption Church counseled us and officiated the ceremony. We wrote the ceremony and our vows, including our profession of faith at the beginning. Our songs were How Deep the Father's Love for Us (Processional), In Christ Alone (Candle Lighting), and Where There is Love (Recessional).

We hosted a private reception at the bride's parents' house following the wedding.  We later hosted a large reception at Highlands Community Church in Renton, Washington for family and friends on January 15, 2006. It was a busy time! I wore a Chinese bridal dress with fabric my bridesmaid's mom gave me (I had shipped the fabric to China's efushop.com, and received it 2 days prior to the reception!).

James designed James and Dena Rosko's Wedding slide show with music of our wedding still images and delivered a wonderful speech. We gave out gifts, and our favors were large butter mints and 4x6 wedding photo prints. Our guests signed photo mats with permanent marker, which we now display in our home.

Each family brought their favorite entree or dessert, and we supplied fruit, veggie, and sandwich trays. Family and friends pitched in as we delegated duties to ensure all ran smoothly. We especially enjoyed seeing our friends and loved ones congregate in one place to celebrate our union. It was affirming to publicize our marriage and to receive people's enthusiastic support.

Many of you have asked us where we are registered. We are registered at Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Macy's

Whatever you do
in word or deed,
do all
in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks through Him
to God the Father...
do your work heartily,
as for the Lord
rather than for men,
knowing that the Lord
gives you the reward of the inheritance.
You serve the Lord Christ.
~ Colossians 3.17,23-24
